Description
RENE LALIQUE (1860–1945) Falcon, design created on 5 August [1925], production discontinued after 1947 Pair of bookends. Cast and pressed glass pieces, partly satin-finished (Marcilhac Ref. 1124). The bases are in black opaline; the mounting rings are in chrome-plated metal. One corner of one base is chipped. One bookend signed ‘R. LALIQUE’ in relief on the base of the falcon; each bookend marked ‘France’ on the base of the falcon. H. 18 cm Bases: 14 x 10 cm
