ARMAND PETERSEN (1891–1969) African Elephant Baby Elephant, first version without tusks, simplified version 2, model created in [1952], numbered proof IV/IV Sculpture. Bronze cast; black patina. Lost-wax casting. Posthumous edition. Monogrammed on the left hind leg; bears the foundry mark ‘CLEMENTI Cire perdue’ and the proof mark IV/IV on the right hind leg. 13 x 14.5 x 7.3 cm Important: We extend our warmest thanks to Jean-Marc Bauquier, President of the Armand Petersen and Etienne Audfray Association, for confirming the authenticity of this work.
