MARIUS-ERNEST SABINO (1878–1961) IN PARIS
Cascading palmettes, a variation on a design exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, Paris 1926
A spectacular chandelier with four tiers of lights. The frame, entirely concealed, is made of silver-painted metal and features large curved palmettes, flat palmettes and cascading motifs around the lower section. The centre of the lower ring features a frosted glass disc. The glass panels are held in place by nickel-plated metal spheres. Circa 1925–1930. Small scattered chips at the base of the palmettes, not visible once assembled. Each element is embossed with ‘SABINO Paris’ and bears a number from the 8,000 series on the reverse. H. 91 cm D. 80 cm
