Description
JACQUES ADNET (1900–1984) (ATTRIBUTED TO)
A flat, very slightly curved desk with two suspended compartments; the frame is made of wood and finished in the original ivory lacquer. The top opens to reveal three drawers, each front adorned with a gilded wooden moulding. The corner legs are of the ‘Gaine’ type and fitted with brass caps. The top is fitted with a large original blue leather writing pad. The drawer handles are in gilded bronze, decorated with figures. 1940s. Showing signs of wear; scattered chips in the lacquer; the gilding on the framing mouldings is badly worn; the leather top is badly damaged. H. 73.5 cm W. 140 cm D. 60 cm
