EERO SAARINEN (1910–1961) DESIGNER & KNOLL INTERNATIONAL MANUFACTURER Tulip, a series launched in [1956] A set comprising three chairs and two swivel armchairs. The legs are made of cast aluminium and coated in white Rilsan. The seats are made of thermoformed fibreglass and lacquered white. Each seat comes complete with a cushion upholstered in white imitation leather. Early production. Shown wear and tear; significant scratches on the legs; one seat cushion is torn; one armchair shell shows signs of damage. A KNOLL label on one of the armchairs; the other armchair is marked ‘KNOLL International’ in the cast aluminium beneath the leg.
