Description
Must be posted - Marc CHAGALL (1887–1985) (after) The Gathering of the Gods, 1989 Marc Chagall’s illustrations for the story ‘Odyssey’ pay homage to Homer’s epic. Chagall himself visited Greece on two occasions and was greatly inspired by ancient mythological motifs during his travels. Lithograph Unsigned On Fabriano vellum, approx. 37.5 x 29.5 cm Excellent condition INFORMATION: Limited edition of 2,500 copies, printed using lithography with 8 to 12 colour passes for each plate in order to perfectly reproduce the delicacy of the original edition.
