Véra Molnar was a pioneer of generative art, the first to use computer programming in the visual arts.
From as early as 1959, with her ‘imaginary machine’, and then in 1968 with the computer, she gave prominence to the line – with a particular fondness for the square – and subjected it to multiple variations through simple changes to parameters, which enabled her to effectively translate her ideas.
