PEHR ABRAHAM TAXBERG ROYAL PRESENTATION BOX IN SILVER AND VERMEIL, FEATURING THE MONOGRAM OF KING CHARLES XIV JOHN OF SWEDEN, SUNDSVALL, CIRCA 1818–1844 elongated teardrop shape with pointed ends; the exterior in silver, the interior entirely in vermeil; the hinged lid chiselled and engraved with foliage scrolls, garlands and stylised flowers, with the interlaced monogram ‘CJ’ surmounting the Roman numeral ‘XIV’, the royal cipher of Charles XIV John (Karl XIV Johan, born Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte), King of Sweden and Norway from 1818 to 1844 Hallmarks: maker’s mark ‘P.A.
