Originally from Springfield, Missouri, Andy Adamson is a ceramic sculptor and teacher living and working in Atlanta. His humour, tinged with a typically ‘Midwestern’ sarcasm, permeates his entire practice: he creates satirical works that blend craftsmanship, clichés and popular culture, questioning the conventions and iconography of contemporary society with a self-assured nonchalance. His work, which is both playful and biting, presents provocative narratives that reveal, beneath a veneer of humour, the foibles of our times. He exhibits internationally, notably at the Corey Helford Gallery (Los Angeles), the Galerie Lefebvre et Fils (Paris), Aqua Art Miami and the Krause Gallery (New York).
