A rare cage-style chandelier, known as ‘à lacets’ or ‘à lacé’, in bronze and gilded metal, richly adorned with pendants of various shapes in cut rock crystal (grains, pearls, small flowers, drops, etc.). The turned stem is fitted with rings. The six light fittings feature cup-shaped shades with circular basins. Louis XIV period, early 18th century, subsequently fitted with electrical wiring. Height 94 cm, diameter 52 cm. (Some pendants are missing; later additions have been made, and some are detached). Provenance: An invoice and a certificate of authenticity dated 26 September 2013 from Jacques Perrin, PERRIN Antiquaires, 98 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré.
