A copy belonging to Dr Adrien Borel bearing this autograph dedication signed by the author: “To Dr Borel, with a sense of joy – complete joy – that I owe to him. Georges Bataille”.
A psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Adrien Borel is the author of several works on psychiatry, including, in 1934, the book with the title that is at once terrible and magnificent: *The Expression of the Ineffable in Psychopathic States*.
