Description
BRETON (André). *Nadja*. Paris: Gallimard, 1928. In-12, paperback, untrimmed. First edition, illustrated with 44 photographs printed as inserts. Printed in a run of 905 copies; this is an unnumbered press copy, accompanied by an autographed dedication from the author to Pierre Unik (1909–1945). The young Pierre Unik had written to André Breton in 1925 in the hope of being published in *La Révolution surréaliste*, a wish that came true in March 1926. Following his meeting with Breton, Pierre Unik joined the Surrealist group alongside Louis Aragon, Paul Éluard, Benjamin Péret, Jacques Prévert, Raymond Queneau and others. A few loose pages, a tear along the spine, and browned paper.
