Rodolphe Bresdin (1822-1885) Frontispiece for Fables et Contes by Hippolyte Thierry-Faletans. 1868. Lithograph. 196 x 240 mm. Van Gelder 122. A very fine and fresh proof on applied pinkish bubble, of the 2nd and final state, with the modifications, notably in the inscriptions on the stone: "Je porte cette pierre depuis 50 ans" ("I have been wearing this stone for 50 years"). A few tiny freckles at the extreme edge of the chine. Tiny foreign body in the chine (original) on the left in the foliage, only perceptible at low light. Full margins. Ex-coll. H. M.
