Eugène Carrière (1849-1906) Le Sommeil (Jean-René Carrière). 1897. Lithograph. 428 x 338 mm. Delteil 36; Johnson 21. A good proof on chine applied to heavy wove paper. Short tear in the right chine, reaching the lock of hair. Small printing defect in the lower left corner of the chine. A few tiny white dots and a tiny vertical scratch in the subject. Numerous freckles and heavy dusting on the support, with a small lack in the lower right corner. Upper right corner obliquely broken. All margins untrimmed. Edition of 100 proofs for the Album d'estampes originales de la galerie Vollard (1897).
