MONTIER-en-DER Pitcher with a stepped shoulder, tasselled thumbhole, and moulding at the narrowest part of the neck. Markings on the outer base: 1) Crowned ‘C’ / (MONTIE)R AN DER / 1756, 2) crowned hammer / R T, Rémi I Tisset, master potter c. 1760, 3) calibration mark on the bowl: fleur-de-lis surmounted by a label. A very fine example, second half of the 18th century.
