MALTA – 2 PORTRAITS of “Nicolo Isouard of MALTA (1773–1818), the Order’s last Master of the Chapel” (famous Maltese composer). 1 – The first, circa 1800–1820. Etched and aquatinted by Edme QUENEDEY (1756–1830). Print on vellum paper, bearing the address “on sale at Quenedey, 15 Rue Neuve-des-Petits-Champs, Paris”. Margins from the copper plate. 22.8 x 16.8 cm. Condition B/C (trimmed to the copper plate’s edge, watermark at the foot and on the left margin, a few scattered foxing spots, slight signs of handling). 2—The second: a 19th-century lithograph on vellum paper, printed by C. Motte. 27 x 21.3 cm. Condition C (numerous foxing spots, a small tear in the lower right-hand corner, a brown stain beneath the portrait). Set of 2 plates.
