HAUTE-SAVOIE (74) – “The Valley and Abbey of SIXT” (SIXT-FER-A-CHEVAL). 19th century. Original drawing by Félix Benoist (1818–1896) in graphite, on mounted China paper. PREPARATORY DRAWING for the lithograph entitled “Valley and Abbey of SIXT”, for the album “NICE AND SAVOIE” published in 1864 by Charpentier. A second drawing on the reverse (location unidentified). Provenance: Collection of the Charpentier studio run by Pierre-Henri (1788–1854) and his son Henri-Désiré (1806–1883), printers and publishers based in Paris, then in Nantes (from 1854). 21 x 31.7 cm. Condition A (in good condition).
