SEINE-MARITIME (76) – “ROUEN, the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Bonsecours”. 19th century. Original drawing by Félix Benoist (1818–1896) in graphite, on mounted China paper. PREPARATORY DRAWING for the lithograph entitled “Church of Notre-Dame de Bon Secours”, for the album “LA NORMANDIE ILLUSTREE” published in 1852 by Charpentier. Provenance: From the collection of the Charpentier studio, run by Pierre-Henri (1788–1854) and his son Henri-Désiré (1806–1883), printers and publishers based in Paris, then in Nantes (from 1854). 40.2 x 28.7 cm. Condition A (rare minor handling marks, in good condition).
