Description
RARE EGYPTIAN WOODEN PADDLE DOLL 11th-13th Dynasty, Ca. 2130 Ð 1650 BC. . A wooden figurine with a flat, paddle-shaped body tapering at the top and widening towards the rounded base. The lower section is painted with a checkerboard pattern in red and black. A modelled head made of unbaked clay is attached to the top, with eyes and mouth inlaid using small circular beads. The figure has rudimentary side projections for arms and a stylised wig composed of long strands of disc beads attached on either side of the head.
