Description
AMARNA PERIOD PAINTED POTTERY JAR WITH WATERFOWL AND PAPYRUS Ca. 1353 - 1335 BC. A pottery jar with a globular body narrowing to a tall cylindrical neck with a thickened everted rim. The neck is encircled by horizontal bands in red, blue and black, with a frieze of upright blue petals alternating with red stamens. The shoulder is decorated with a broad register of waterfowl in flight among papyrus stalks. The lower body is left plain.
