EGYPTIAN GOLD SNAKE RING WITH GARNET CABOCHON Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 332 - 30 BC. A gold ring shaped as a coiled snake with incised overlapping scale motifs. It is set with a marquise-shaped garnet cabochon within a granulated border. The tapering tail ends in a spiral. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1917,0501.771. Size: D:20.37mm / US: 10 5/8 / UK: V; Weight: 13.5g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier held in an old family collection formed over the period 1960sÐ2000.
