PHOENICIAN GOLD PENDANT OF A BABOON Ca. 600 - 400 BC. A gold pendant shaped as a seated baboon mother holding her young against her chest. The adult has a projecting muzzle, rounded ears, bent legs and long feet resting on a rectangular base. The young is nestled between her arms, with its head turned upwards.
