STUNNING HELLENISTIC AMETHYST INTAGLIO OF NIKE IN OPENWORK GOLD PIN Ca. 200 BC - AD 50. An amethyst intaglio engraved with winged Nike / Victory viewed from behind, standing on a groundline. The stone is set within a neoclassical oval gold pin mount bordered by granulated filigree scrolls and applied gold granules, with a long tapering shaft extending from the reverse and partly decorated with spiral grooves.
