GREEK GOLD MEDALLION WITH APHRODITE AND EROS ON PODIUM Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A gold medallion with a repousse scene of Aphrodite seated on a pile of rocks beneath a tree, extending her left hand towards Eros standing on a podium. The field is enclosed by a raised border and an outer row of bosses, with a soldered suspension loop above. Size: 42mm x 32mm; Weight: 6.6g Provenance: Private UK collection; formerly H.G. collection; acquired from A. Kotllar, Paris, French art market, 1970Ð2006. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
