Originally from Belgium, the Lacloche brothers founded their firm in Paris in 1892, on Rue de Châteaudun, before moving to Rue de la Paix in 1901, opposite Cartier. Sought after by the aristocracy and the crowned heads of Europe, including King Alfonso XIII of Spain and King Edward VII of England, the firm enjoyed its golden age from the Belle Époque through to the 1920s, a period during which it showcased its creations at the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris. Its style, recognisable by its preference for calibrated settings and geometric lines, makes it one of the leading names in Art Deco jewellery.
