Large modernist bookcase
Carved and patinated solid oak.
It opens with three richly carved doors depicting harvest scenes in a cartouche, against a background of a trellis supporting vine leaves.
Wear and patina, no key.
Length: 200 cm. Height : 173 cm. Depth : 45 cm.
A cabinetmaker and teacher at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes, Jorj Rual joined the Unvaniez Ar Seiz Breur in 1932 and helped design the Brittany pavilion at the 1937 Universal Exhibition.
He took over the family cabinet-making workshop in 1935.
