Abbé Jean BOULBAIN (Saint-Brieuc, 1911 - Rennes, 1973) - HENRIOT, Quimper. Saint Yves. Large polychrome glazed earthenware subject. Signed and numbered. It depicts Saint Yves in liturgical vestments, wearing a parma Gothic chasuble decorated with scrolls and ram's horns, a stole and a maniple. It is embellished with a stylised heraldic ermine Seiz Breur on the front and back. The cover is decorated in light relief with the arms of the Hélory de Kermartin family and marked "JUSTICE / CHARITE". The rectangular base is titled in relief. Signed "Jean Boulbain prêtre +" on the back. Marked underneath "Ex N°13. J.B.". Late 1940s, early 1950s. Height : 53 cm. Width : 17 cm. Depth : 15.5 cm (Firing crack between the vane and the base, enamelling defects on the title, tiny chip on the base).
