ENCLOSED is a subscription form completed and returned by Queen Elisabeth of Belgium, widow of Albert I, from her castle at Stuyvenberg. She placed an order for the copy on antique paper.
A rare subscription document published to mark the release of Francis Ponge’s *Le Lézard*, a work accompanied by seven original etchings by Jean Signovert. The leaflet outlines the editorial project, the technical specifications of the book, the limited print run of just 42 copies, and the subscription prices offered by the Galerie Jeanne Bucher in Paris.
A valuable testament to post-war bibliophilic activity in Paris, it illustrates the close links between contemporary poetry, original engravings and avant-garde galleries centred around Jeanne Bucher, Maeght and the circle of the École de Paris.
In the same year, the Nina Daudet gallery on Rue du Dragon in Paris exhibited Signovert’s etchings for *Le Lézard* (source: *Derrière le miroir*, no. 33, November 1950).
