Large quarto. 22 pp. First edition, illustrated with three compositions, including two full-page illustrations by Braque and Matisse, and one half-page illustration by Bonnard. A member of the Surrealist group, the writer Jacques Kober organised the Surrealist movement in 1947 and was also a close friend and right-hand man to Maeght, with whom he launched the ‘Pierre à Feu’ and ‘Derrière le Miroir’ collections. In 1947, he published the exquisite collection *Le Vent des Épines*, the second work published by Maeght. Limited edition of 300 copies printed on Auvergne vellum, with a lovely dedication from the author to Jean SIGNOVERT. Signs of wear. Provenance: Jean SIGNOVERT’s studio collection.
