Description
A Very Important and Exquisite Japanese Cabinet A small cabinet known as a ‘kodansu’, characteristic of Japanese lacquered woodwork from the late Meiji and early Taisho periods. Japan, circa 1900–1920. Adorned with gold leaf and chased metal fittings, it opens with two doors to reveal six small drawers and a large lower drawer. 14.5 x 27 cm. Minor signs of wear, slight dents on the lower corners, and occasional chips in the lacquer. Item held in an international warehouse (within the EU). Intra-EU shipment: no import duties apply within the EU. An export licence from the country of origin may be required.
