60 China: An enamelled copper set comprising two cones and two lidded vases. Decorated with scenes of palaces painted in ‘Famille rose’ enamels against a translucent blue enamel background. This translucent blue background is applied over a grid pattern, probably created using flakes of silver leaf. Fine original copper mountings. Gilded bronze finials depicting Fô dogs. Qing dynasty, 19th century. Condition: various visible areas of missing enamel. The tops of the two lids are slightly dented. Height of conical vessel: 30 cm. Height of vase: 34.5 cm. (LL)
