Louis VUITTON, 2011. Rare “Vermont Avenue” bag: in amaranth Monogram patent leather. Resin twist clasp with a tortoiseshell effect, signed Louis Vuitton Paris. Shoulder strap composed of gold-tone metal links alternating with tortoiseshell-effect resin links, allowing it to be carried by hand or over the shoulder. H 17 x W 22 x D 5 cm. Good overall condition, with slight signs of wear. Dust bag and receipt. A very attractive contrast between the amaranth-coloured Monogram-embossed patent leather and the geometric clasp. The Louis Vuitton Vermont Avenue bag is an iconic piece launched around 2010, during Marc Jacobs’ creative era. It follows in the great tradition of the Parisian house, which names its bags after famous urban avenues or boulevards (such as Melrose Avenue, Sunset Boulevard or Lexington). Upon taking over as creative director in 1997, Marc Jacobs revolutionised the house by launching the Monogram Vernis line in 1998.
