ERARD harp with double movement, 7 pedals and 47 strings from 1909.
Spruce top, bird's-eye maple body with 5 soundholes, wood and gilded stucco capital depicting angels and religious musicians set in a rich Neo-Gothic architectural and stylised floral décor. Neo-Gothic wood and gilded stucco column and base with 2 stylised lion feet. Maple console with brass plates, fork mechanism, engraved inscription: "ERARD (entrelacs) / 13 rue du Mail / PARIS" on one side, and "ERARD (entrelacs) / 3479" on the other.
Made in Paris and listed in the Atelier ERARD register, inventory number E. 2009.5.48: "(Number): 3479 : (Designation): gothic style harp with 47 strings / maple / (date of arrival): 11 February 1909 / (date of departure): 10 March 1909 / (Purchasers): Mr Aiguier in Marseille".
Missing strings and pegs, scratches and wear from use, small cracks and missing parts, some traces of woodworm. Accessories including tuning keys, tuning fork, pegs, strings and string diameter gauge for harp marked ERARD.
