Description
[BONNARD (Pierre) & JARRY (Alfred)]. *Illustrated Almanac of Père Ubu*. Paris, A. Vollard, 1901. Folded sheets in an illustrated, padded cover. A copy from the main print run on laid paper, largely untrimmed. Jarry’s text is illustrated with numerous drawings in black, red chalk or blue, attributed to Pierre Bonnard (1867–1947). A few faint marks on the cover and on the leaf following the score, along with other minor imperfections. Included: HEUZÉ (Edmond, ill.) & JARRY (Alfred). Ubu Roi. Paris, M. Sautier, 1947. In loose sheets, with a filled-in half-leather binding, publisher’s folder and slipcase. Limited edition of just 200 numbered copies; this is one of the non-commercial copies, unnumbered and signed by the publisher. Jarry’s text is illustrated with original colour lithographs and woodcuts by Edmond Heuzé (1883–1967). Case slightly worn, other minor flaws. Experts: Loup Axmann and Jean-Luc Boisseau
