Panel in polychrome and gold lacquered wood, with mother-of-pearl powder on a black background. The bodies of the fish are partially inlaid with eggshells and the fins are engraved on gilded ground. Signed in the lower left-hand corner in red cursive letters (illegible: ChDEVERNHMC?). Set in a very fine lacquered wooden frame.
