Description
Ivory flute, attributed to Jean-Baptiste MARTIN (born in 1751) or to one of his sons or to a MARTIN maker in London (Latin name: Elephantidae spp), late 18th century, in four parts, silver rings, six holes, a silver key mounted on a block. Stamped ‘MARTIN’ on all sections. Cap carved with rosettes. A crack on the head, which has been restored. Cracks, damage and restoration to one section, minor chips and signs of wear. Total length: 610 mm – scale length: 535 mm – Weight: 377 g. This instrument is more than 100 years old. CIC, 19 JANUARY 2026
