An early 20th-century 4/4 violin in the Guarnerius style, bearing a label reading ‘Copy after J. Guarnerius, revised and corrected by P. SERDET, violin maker in Paris, 1923’, spruce top with fine growth rings in the centre widening towards the edges, one-piece maple back with ripples curving downwards to the right, ribs of the same wood with less pronounced ripples, a minor chip on the corner of the back and scratches in the varnish, yellow-brown varnish with a brown patina, 357 mm, in good condition in a recent case.
