A fine early 20th-century French 4/4 violin from the CARESSA and FRANCAIS workshops, bearing a label dated 1920, No. 434, as well as two brand marks by ALBERT CARESSA PARIS on the inside of the back, spruce top with medium growth rings widening towards the edges; one-piece maple back with medium, irregular waves sloping slightly downwards to the left; ribs of the same wood, matching the back; a slightly oily red varnish with orange highlights, 358 mm, excellent condition.
