Description
Interesting early 19th century violin, labelled Francesco Stradivari Cremona 1742. Head replaced, various restorations, two pieces of reinforcement on the back, different restoration on the ribs. 354mm. A 2019 dendrochronology by Peter Ratcliff dates the table to the 1760's. This instrument is more than 100 years old. From the Hiroaki OKITSU collection. Interesting violin from the early 19th century ; bearing a label reading "Francesco Stradivari Cremona 1742." Replaced head ; various restorations, including two reinforcement patches on the back and additional restoration on the ribs. A 2019 dendrochronological analysis by Peter Ratcliff dates the table to the 1760s.
