(Some restorations) Vignette on the title page and endpaper.
First edition of this scholarly work on the history of Aquitaine up to 1720.
Antoine Dadin de Hauteserre, dean of the University of Toulouse, was a specialist in the history of the monarchy.
Autograph bookplate "Bibliotheca Colbertinae".
NB: A curious copy bringing together 4 great bibliophiles of the 17th and 17th centuries, the binding is decorated on the spine with the cipher of GASTON D'ORLEANS, on the title is the ex libris of Bibliotheca Colbertinae. In the 18th century, the volume bore the arms of FEVRET DE FONTETTE, member of the Burgundy parliament and later director of the Dijon academy, who in 1768 published an enlarged edition of the Bibliothèque histoire du Père Lelong. Finally, it bears on the first cover the arms of DOMINIQUE DE VERGES, Syndic General of the States of Bigorre.
