Ushak carpet (cotton warp, wool weft and pile), Western Turkey.
Circa 1900.

Length: 386 cm; Width: 307 cm.
The carpet is adorned with a large, multi-lobed, polychrome medallion, flanked by two pendants, set against a tobacco-coloured ground enhanced by a stylised polychrome floral design. A wide, old-red border featuring geometric floral motifs frames the composition.

Storage is subject to a charge. Any lots not collected by 5.30 pm on the day of the sale must be collected by appointment from the Bagnolet Drouot storage facility (36–56 Rue Louis David, 93170 Bagnolet; tel: 01 49 93 12 31; email: [email protected]).

Items that have not been collected within three months of the date of the sale may be put up for sale again by Bagnolet Drouot in order to cover storage costs.
