Description
Piece from the 1940s
A pair of 750‰ yellow gold earrings featuring stylised ribbons and rods. Clips for unpierced ears, made from 750‰ rose gold.
Dimensions: 2 x 2 cm.
Gross weight: 15 g.
This design echoes two pairs of Van Cleef & Arpels earrings held at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (M.144:1, 2-2007 and M.145:1, 2-2007), featuring the same design of stylised ribbons and rods. Unlike our model, which is in plain gold, these are adorned with rubies and diamonds respectively, set in a ‘honeycomb’ setting.
