In the 1930s, the Atelier Georges Lenfant combined its geometric links with precious and decorative stones (amethyst, carnelian, chrysoprase, onyx, etc.) and offered them to the leading jewellery houses of the time, notably Lacloche Frères. Our bracelet is particularly original, both in the craftsmanship of the articulated links – richly and meticulously finished with onyx inlays – and in the use of decorative stones fashioned into spheres, making the most of their natural colour banding. Our bracelet highlights the creative drive of this workshop, a master chainmaker and producer of avant-garde designs throughout every period of its production. The modernist drive of the Lenfant workshop in the 1920s and 1930s was also likely influenced by other brilliant designers, such as Gérard Sandoz, who commissioned pieces from them and entrusted them with the creation of innovative designs. In 1927, Gustave-Roger Sandoz sold his company to the Lenfant workshop.
