Two blackbirds in a strawberry patch
Woodcut, in the Japanese print style, enhanced with gouache and gold, on brown paper mounted on card. Signed lower right, with pencil annotations in the lower margin. Composition depicting two blackbirds facing each other, perched on a branch beneath a strawberry plant with leaves, white flowers and ripe strawberries, all set against a gilded background and a blue-green area evoking the shade of the foliage. Executed in broad blocks of colour outlined in black, in a Japanese-inspired style. Wear and tears at the edges, with annotations.
