ANTIQUE HAMMER HEAD
A hand-forged iron tool head, elongated in shape and tapering at the centre, with an oval eye for fitting the wooden handle. The two ends, which are slightly flared, have different cross-sections – one flatter, the other more substantial – suggesting a dual purpose. The surface, hammered irregularly, has a dark, grainy patina characteristic of antique iron, with traces of oxidation bearing witness to its age. Handcrafted in a blacksmith’s workshop, without ornamentation, and made using traditional wrought iron techniques.
