Description
SET OF FOUR ANTIQUE HAMMER HEADS
Hand-forged from iron, each with a rectangular or oval hole designed to accommodate a wooden handle; the heads come in various shapes—rounded, spherical, bevelled, flat or tapered, reflecting their different functional uses (striking, wedging, hammering). The surface of each piece, hammered irregularly, has a dark patina characteristic of antique iron, with traces of surface corrosion attesting to their age. Handcrafted in a forge, made using traditional wrought-iron techniques, without ornamentation, characteristic of utilitarian tools produced in Europe, probably during the early Renaissance period.
Largest dimensions: 13 x 6 cm
