FRENCH PERIOD: LOUIS XV–LOUIS XVI TRANSITION Elegant chest of drawers with a central projection In rosewood and satinwood veneer, opening to reveal three rows of drawers, each row featuring three faux drawers; the top row decorated with simulated fluting in marquetry, the side panels adorned with gilded bronze pendants featuring drapery and garland motifs. It stands on curved front legs, known as ‘console’ legs, finished with gilded bronze feet. Richly fitted with chiselled and gilded bronze fittings. Topped with a white marble top framed by an openwork brass moulding. Signs of normal wear. Dimensions: h. 90 x 133 x 63 cm
