PAIR OF LOUIS XVI-STYLE CABRIOLET CHAIRS
A pair of oval-shaped cabriolet armchairs in moulded, carved and cream-lacquered wood; the slightly curved backs and waistbands are highlighted by fine mouldings, whilst the armrests, with their padded cuffs, rest on slightly recessed, sinuous console supports. The set stands on four tapered, fluted and rudenté legs, topped with connecting blocks adorned with carved rosettes. Traditional upholstery in jacquard or damask fabric featuring a pattern of stripes, garlands and bouquets of flowers in shades of pink. France, 20th century, showing signs of wear.
