DOUBLE PAIR OF LOUIS XVI-STYLE CHAIRS A set of four ‘à la Reine’ chairs with straight backs, made of moulded, carved and cream-lacquered wood; the back uprights and waistbands are accented with a beaded frieze. They rest on four tapered, fluted and notched legs, topped with connecting blocks adorned with carved rosettes. Two chairs feature traditional upholstery in yellow and cream damask, whilst the other two are upholstered in plain golden-yellow velvet. France, late 19th century, showing signs of wear. Dimensions: 94 x 46 x 45 cm
