A headdress known as the ‘Gatinelle’ or ‘Belle de Parthenay’, made of tulle and decorated with an embroidered scattering of flowers on a speckled background, set upon a cardboard frame; the wide tulle band is machine-embroidered, flat at the front and piped at the sides. The back is adorned with a large, matching ribbed synthetic fabric bow (attached). This headdress has been prepared, starched and is displayed on a mannequin head. Early 20th century.
